The Centre Against Injustice and Domestic Violence (CAIDOV) has congratulated Tunji Disu on his appointment as the 23rd indigenous Inspector General of Police.
In a congratulatory letter signed by its Executive Director, Gbenga Soloki, the organisation described Disu’s elevation as well deserved, noting that his appointment did not come as a surprise given his people-oriented style of policing.
Soloki stated that the staff, management and Board of Trustees of CAIDOV were delighted with the appointment of the security expert, who was elevated from Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon, Lagos, to the office of Inspector General of Police.
According to the organisation, Disu has distinguished himself as a professional officer known for his humane and pro-people approach to policing.
“You are one of the few senior police officers who serve as a pillar of public trust in the security and rule of law protection institution,” the letter stated.
The group also expressed confidence in the new police chief’s ability to lead the Nigeria Police Force effectively and contribute to strengthening security and justice in the country.
CAIDOV further wished Disu success in his new role, expressing hope that his leadership would promote justice, public safety and the protection of human rights across Nigeria.
