Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa has described his swearing in as the substantive chairman of Agege Local Government as the beginning of a new phase of service focused on deeper development and improved governance at the grassroots.
Speaking after his inauguration, Obasa said the moment marked a defining point in his public service journey, noting that he felt humbled by the responsibility and renewed in his commitment to the progress and prosperity of Agege and its people.

He described his assumption of office as a call to do more, achieve more, and deliver greater impact for residents, adding that the new chapter would build on past achievements while driving more transformative initiatives across the local government.
The chairman expressed appreciation to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu, for the confidence reposed in his leadership and for his continued support for effective local government administration across the state.
Obasa also dedicated the mandate to the people of Agege, including community leaders, youths, stakeholders, and residents, stressing that their trust and collective support remained central to his administrationβs goals.
According to him, while notable progress has been recorded in the local government, greater milestones still lie ahead as the council works to deepen development and inclusive governance.
He expressed optimism about the future of Agege, describing the local government as one on the rise and poised for further growth.
