Dembele, who was announced as the winner on Monday, 22 September, edged Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, while another PSG star, Vitinha, finished in third place.
In the women’s category, Barcelona and Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmati continued her dominance, winning the prestigious award for the third time after beating Arsenal and Spain’s Clandetey.
Football legends Ronaldinho (the 2005 winner) and Andres Iniesta had the honor of presenting the awards to Dembele and Bonmati respectively.
