The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has joined the nation in mourning the passing of veteran journalist and media trailblazer, Dr. Doyin Abiola.
In a condolence message made available to the press, Senator Tinubu extended her heartfelt sympathies to the children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, associates, and the entire media community over what she described as an “irreplaceable loss.”
Describing the late Dr. Abiola as a distinguished journalist and courageous pathfinder, the First Lady hailed her immense contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria’s media industry.
“Dr. Doyin Abiola carved a path of excellence and courage for many Nigerian women in media and public service,” Tinubu said. “Her legacy of professionalism will continue to inspire all who believe in the power of the written word and the vital role of the press in nation-building.”
She prayed for eternal rest for the departed icon and comfort for the family and colleagues she left behind.
“May Almighty God grant her eternal rest and comfort her family and friends on this irreplaceable loss,” she added.
