Former AC Milan and Napoli boss, Gennaro Gattuso, is on the brink of being named the next head coach of the Italian national team, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano revealed on Saturday that the deal is nearly complete, with only final details remaining before it’s officially sealed.
“Gennaro Gattuso, on the verge of becoming new Italy head coach with agreement due to be finalised in the next days. Final details and then deal done,” he posted.
Gattuso, widely known for his fiery on-pitch persona and intense managerial style, is expected to take over from Luciano Spalletti.
The Italian Football Federation is reportedly preparing to confirm the appointment once negotiations are concluded.
