The Commissioner of the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon. K.K. Alidu, has called on Christians across the state to reflect on and uphold the teachings of Jesus Christ in their celebrations.
In a goodwill message released today, Hon. Alidu emphasized that Christmas should not only be a time of festivity but also an opportunity for deep reflection on the values of love, peace, and humility exemplified by Christ.
“Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, the cornerstone of Christianity, whose life and teachings inspire billions worldwide. It is a period to show love, extend kindness, and strengthen the bonds of unity in our communities,” he stated.
The Commissioner urged Christians to celebrate in moderation and contribute positively to societal development by being agents of peace and goodwill. He also highlighted the need for increased prayers for the state and the nation, particularly during these challenging times.
Hon. Alidu commended the Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for its continuous efforts to foster harmony among all religious groups in the state. He encouraged citizens to support the administration’s initiatives aimed at promoting peace and progress.
He also applauded the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, for his efforts in ensuring impactful policies are in place to elevate Lagos State to greater heights.
“As we celebrate, let us remember those in need and lend a helping hand. Christmas is a time for sharing and caring. Let’s make a difference in the lives of others,” Hon. Alidu added.
He wished all Christians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, urging them to carry the spirit of the season into the coming year.
