The Kano State Police Command has arrested 157 suspects in connection with the attack on several supermarkets at Nassarawa Quarters and the looting of public and private property during Thursday’s #EndBadGovernance protest.
In response to the violence, the state government has imposed a 24-hour curfew to restore order and ensure the safety of residents. Videos circulating online show significant damage in Kano, particularly the destruction of multiple motor vehicles at the NCC office and the Audu Bako Secretariat, near the Government House, which were set ablaze.
According to sources within the Police High Command, an AK-47 rifle was recovered at the High Court, along with a large quantity of looted property. The Police have assured residents of their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the state.
