Hon. Olulade Urges State Governments to Adopt Enugu’s Innovative Smart Schools Model

In a significant step towards digital transformation and enhanced educational infrastructure, the Executive Director of Customer Centricity and Marketing at Galaxy Backbone Limited, Hon. Olusegun Olulade, has called on state governments across the country to emulate Enugu State’s Smart Schools model in their respective states.

Hon. Olulade, who recently led the executives of the leading ICT services provider in Nigeria on a partnership visit to Enugu State, pledged support for the state’s innovative Smart Schools initiative.

The delegation was warmly received by His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, at the Governor’s Office in Lion Building, Enugu.

According to Hon. Olulade, the partnership aims to revolutionize the state’s educational sector by integrating advanced technology and modern facilities.

Hon. Olulade emphasized the necessity of the Smart Schools initiative, highlighting its potential to serve as a model for other states across Nigeria.

He outlined the comprehensive features of the Enugu Smart Schools, which include:

1. Interactive digital whiteboards

2. Two free pairs of school uniforms for every child

3. State-of-the-art science laboratories

4. One free meal per day for every child

5. Solar-powered academic blocks

6. Staff quarters

7. Creativity and innovation rooms

8. School buses

9. Modern ICT centers

10. Medical clinics

11. One million-litre underground water storage facilities

12. Integrated smart farms for experiential learning

13. Centers for robotics and artificial intelligence

14. Hybrid multimedia libraries

15. Technology laboratories

16. Twenty-five inclusive classrooms accommodating students with special needs

17. Free Android tablets

He noted that some of the Smart Schools visited are located in remote villages, serving about four villages and providing quality education to children from underprivileged backgrounds.

Hon. Olulade lauded the Enugu Smart Schools as a blueprint for other states, underscoring the importance of replicating this model nationwide.

He reaffirmed Galaxy Backbone’s commitment to driving digital transformation and supporting initiatives that enhance educational outcomes.

According to him, the partnership will mark a pivotal moment in Enugu State’s journey towards a technologically advanced educational system, setting a benchmark for other regions to follow.

“Proudly Nigerian – We can make it happen,” Olulade declared, emphasizing the potential for nationwide digital transformation spearheaded by Galaxy Backbone.

“Whenever you think digital transformation, think Galaxy Backbone,” he averred.
