Muslims have been urged to maintain the good deeds and virtues acquired during the Holy month of Ramadan throughout their lives.
They are also encouraged to continue praying and offering sadaqat in memory of their departed loved ones to receive Allah’s favor in the grave and beyond.
Imam Mustapha Agbaji Abdulqadri of the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Division Two branch, Ajao Road, Surulere, made these remarks at the Fidau/Ramadan Lecture held in memory of Alhaja Risikat Bello at the Mutual Alpha Court Estate, Iponrin.
He emphasized that Allah has made observing Ramadan compulsory for healthy Muslims, as prescribed for previous generations. He stressed that during this period, fear of Allah and kindness to others are essential to reap abundant rewards.
Imam Abdulqadri highlighted Ramadan’s significance in Islam, as Allah promised to open wide the gates of Aljanah (paradise) and close those of hellfire during this period.
He also commended Hon Ismail Bello, one of the deceased’s children, for organizing the event and prayed for Allah to grant Alhaja Aljanah Firdaus.
In his remarks, Hon Ismail Bello expressed gratitude to all attendees despite the short notice and prayed for their longevity beyond this year’s Ramadan fast.
