As a Lagosian, I am impressed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s decisive actions in tackling pressing issues affecting the citizenry. In the midst of a challenging cost of living crisis, the governor has risen to the occasion with a comprehensive plan to alleviate the burdens faced by us, the residents of Lagos.

The decision to reduce public servants’ working days is a practical move aimed at mitigating the impact of rising costs. This initiative not only acknowledges the challenges we are grappling with but actively seeks solutions to ease the financial strain on individuals and families alike.

The governor’s commitment to open more markets offering discounted rates on essential food items is a welcomed relief for many struggling to put food on the table. By ensuring access to nutritious food at affordable prices, he is ensuring that no Lagosian goes hungry.

The announcement of a 25% reduction in transport fares for the State Public Transport system is a clear demonstration of the governor’s commitment to making transportation more affordable and accessible for everyone. His engagement with transport unions to further reduce fares highlights his dedication to finding practical solutions to our transportation challenges.

Initiatives such as providing 100 trailers of rice for 300,000 households, re-introducing Sunday Markets for subsidized goods, and offering subsidies on essential drugs further underscore Governor Sanwo-Olu’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of Lagosians.

The decision to eliminate the requirement for students to show tax receipts in public schools is a significant step towards ensuring that education remains accessible to all, irrespective of financial background. This move prioritizes the education and future of our youth, which is commendable.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s initiatives speak volumes about his strong leadership and genuine concern for the well-being of Lagosians. His proactive approach in addressing our city’s challenges is commendable, and I am confident that under his leadership, Lagos will continue to thrive.

Lagos is working!
