Renowned human right activist and pro-democracy advocate, Comrade Razaq Olokoba has commended the five honourable Jurists that delivered the Wednesday verdict on various petitions fired at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), for a job well done.
Olokoba in a chat with our correspondent in Lagos Thursday morning said the learned Jurists, led by Honourable Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani delivered the verdict in a well explanatory manner that even lay men in law had no problem comprehending what they were saying, commending them for their painstaking efforts at perusing the voluminous evidences and heaps of correspondences dumbed on them to deal with.
The activist, who is the Convener and National President of the Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), also gave kudos to the people of Nigeria for their maturity and sense of patriotism displayed throughout the country while the legal exercise lasted; expressing the delight that evolvement of a new Nigeria is at hand.
He therefore congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on this doubly confirmed victory, just as he reminded him that the confirmation of his victory of February 25 was a call for all inclusive government, adding, “it is again a clarion call to double his efforts and be more focussed towards reviving the nation economically, socially and politically.
Against this background the social critic, public commentator and political analyst therefore implore the people of Nigeria, irrespective of religious leaning, political affiliation and ethnic background to team up with President Tinubu with a view to build a nation all of us and the generation yet unborn would be very proud of.
“For now, politicking is not the order of the day. Election has come and gone and the winner has emerged. His victory has been challenged at the appropriate quarters of competent jurisdiction in accordance with the provision of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the victory was again confirmed. In my own view, I think we should all now rally round the winner with the sense of patriotism if truly our aim is to serve this country and her good people,” Olokoba declared.
