The Ansar-ud-deen Grammar School on Randle Street in Surulere has held its annual 64th Annual Inter House Sports with
PamPam (blue house), beating other 4 houses to emerge overall winner.
The fun filled event was held at the newly upgraded Mini Stadium within the school premises.
Layeni (purple house) and Lawal (green) however came second and third respectively.
Our correspondent reports that the event kicked off with calisthenics and a very colourful Match pass by the five Houses including: Pam Pam, Layeni, Lawal, Etti and Daud.
The Chairman of the event, Prof. Imran Oluwole Smith
encouraged the students to always imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship.
According to him, the event was to further cement the cordial relationships that existed among them.
Also speaking, the Principal of the school, Mr Habeeb A. Badru stressed the need for the sustainance of the school’s tradition of producing future athletes that have won laurels in various competitions.
He also showered praises on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila for facilitating the renovation/upgrading of the school’s sports complex.
Mr Badru further commended the students for their sterling performances in academics and extra curricular activities.
Some parents of the Students urged the school authorities to continue to beam searchlight on their activities within the school premises.
They also applauded the improvement in the academic performances of their children which they attributed to the discipline enforced and availability of quality teachers.
