Nigerian Hip Life Artist, JOEY OBINA UBA popularly known as ATTABOY has strongly canvassed for a Special funding by the federal government in support of the Entertainment and Hospitality industry in the country.
He is also asking government to initiate Tax rebate for those in the industry as well as conducive environment in order to uncover many young hidden talents.
ATTABOY made this appeal in a chat ahead of the public dedication of his fourth album holding on the 29th of this month at Denposon Hotels in Gowon Estate Egbeda by Abesan gate area of Lagos State.
ATTABOY who released his first album in 1991 under Olumo records label and the second in 1996 titled Valentine’s day under the same Olumo records label.
Not given up despite numerous challenges, the multitalented musician returned to the studios in 2008 under Top rank records label and unveiled his third works to the world.
The current album which is the fourth contains 8 tracks with other one instrumental.
His career as a musician started as a teenager in the 1990s but he was initially a dancer with his parents kicking against the chosen career.
He said and I quote ” My going into music was very tough even though my mother was a Soloist while my father, a great instrumentalist yet they had different views about my going into music.” End of quote.
Talking about how he derived his inspiration, ATTABOY disclosed that it usually come from listening to good music especially from his mum.
He said his career began as a Pop Artist with the likes of Alex O, Edmund Spice ,and Sunny Nneji but currently, he plays Hip Hop life.
The musician believes the country deserve genuine total restructuring and ensuring that people are appointed into public offices on merit for the country to get it right.
Lagos state Governor, BABAJIDE SANWOOLU is the Chief host at the scheduled launching of the Album while his counterpart from Enugu state, IFEANYI UGWUANYI is the Special Guest of Honour.
