In what could be described as uncommon and exemplary, the Lagos state commissioner of police, CP Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, yesterday, the 22nd of June, 2022, demonstrated true comradeship and love for a colleague, as officers and men of the command, gathered to send forth, newly decorated Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, at the officers mess G.R.A, Ikeja.
CP Kontagora, who is the immediate past, deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations department in Lagos state, witnessed an uncommon show of love by officers of the command, especially, the workaholic CP Alabi, as he was treated to a flurry of love and affection, as graciously led and typefied by the Lagos state police command helmsman.
As if commissioner Alabi and his officers have had a prior choreography session, heads of numerous formations, units and tactical commands across the state, were seen taking turns on the dance floor to celebrate CP Kontagora’s new height on the job; worthy of note was the dexterous display of dance medley by the commander of the Lagos state Rapid Response Squad, CSP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, amongst others.
The celebrant, CP Kontagora, was all glee through the progression of the day’s program, ably marshalled by the consummate spokesman of the Lagos state command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin
High points of the day amongst others, include, a landmark remark about the new CP by a board member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan; presentations of gift and a commemorative plaque to the celebrant, by CP Abiodun Alabi and the Lagos state chapter of the Northern Nigeria Youth Organization’s (NNYO), delegation, led by the Lagos state director for enlightenment and advocacy, Ibrahim A. Jagaba, in that order.
Giving his remark, Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, hinted that, long before the coming of CP kontagora, to Lagos to serve as deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations department, the police chief was found to be of high integrity and efficiency and he went ahead to prove his mettle,while, in the service of the state command as clearly evident in his excellent delivery, Dr. Ayo asserted.
To say that, CP Abiodun Alabi’s affectionate display at the event was a testament to the true cordiality and comradeship that dominated their sojourn in the command as head and lieutenant, while, it last, is an understatement; thus, their example is highly commendable and worthy of emulation.
The police needs experiences of the type, exemplified by the two topnotch security chiefs, because such will reinforce oneness and unity of purpose on the job, which is good for the maintenance of law and order and the security of life and property, that forms bulk of the police force mandate, says a high profile guest at the event who craved anonymity.
A flurry of good will messages and commendations for CP Kontagora, led by CP Abiodun Alabi’s, took a great deal of the send forth proceedings, as commentators applauded his stewardship of the operations department as deputy commissioner in Lagos.
