Students under the aegis of Awori Students Badagry division, yesterday endorsed an illustrious son of the state, Sen. Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro to represent the good people of Lagos West in the Senate, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general election.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the group, Comrade Soliu Ikuyamiku and Secretary, Comrade Yinka Obanla, the group explained that the call became necessary based on the track records of Obanikoro, whom they described as a man that has the interest of the people at heart.

They also described Senator Musiliu Obanikoro as a seasoned and grassroots politician with experience, exposure and can-do spirit.

The statement read: “We want to commend Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro for always keeping in touch with the people at the grassroots, we urge him to contest for the Lagos West Senatorial seat in 2023.

The call become necessary because right now, what the district needs is a pragmatic and realistic grassroots politician that feels the pains, yearnings and aspirations of all in the district.

We need a politician that will give quality and robust representation that will ensure dividends of democracy, which Obanikoro represents and stands for.

“We call on members of the group to give their unflinching support towards the actualisation of the dream.

“We are ready to go to the length and breadth of Ikeja/Badagry division to ensure that senator Obanikoro emerges as standard bearer of the APC at the primary, as well as win the general election come 2023.” they said.
