Kidnappers have demanded the sum of N100 million to free a popular pastor in Akwa Ibom State, Apostle John Okoriko,
The founder and president of Solid Rock Kingdom Church, was reportedly kidnapped on Tuesday night on the church premises in Ibekwe Akpan Nya, Mkpat Enin council of the state.
It was gathered that the hoodlums scaled the fence and forced their way into the clergy’s living room.
A source said the gunmen opened fire, and dragged the octogenarian pastor outside into the bush and disappeared with him.
The police and some youths combed the bushes but could not find the clergyman.
Police spokesman Odiko Macdon said the abduction happened on Tuesday at about 5pm at the church residence in Mkpat Enin.
“We have received the report and the CP has ordered for an investigation to commence. As I speak, a lot has been done already, I want to believe that we will get to the root of it in no distant time,” he said.
