Renowned human rights advocate and National President, Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), Comrade Razaq Olokoba has taken a critical look at the activities of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu over his commitment to ensuring that Lagos attains a Mega City Status, and declared that, the governor has inched closer to the final stage of his dream.
Olokoba spoke with our correspondent in Lagos where he commended the governor over his recent tour of the United State of America (USA), to procure brand new car metro train for the Lagos rail project, expressing the delight that, at last, Governor Sanwo-Olu has broken what appears as spell over the city’s metro project.
The youthful activist and political commentator spoke in respect of a statement from the State’s Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotosho that the governor has recently embarked on a tour of high speed train manufacturers Talgo Incorporated Company for the acquisition of two set of brand new 10-Car Metro train for Lagos Rail project in Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA.
Against this background, Olokoba was of the conviction that, the governor deserves commendation accolades and praises to encourage him to do more, urging the good people of Lagos and other residents to rally round him to ensure he defeats other obstacles that might want to constitute impediment to his commitment to develop infrastructure for the state.
According to him, the role of standard infrastructure in any nation can never be over emphasised because of its positive effect on the economic wellbeing of the citizenry, reminding that, transportation and haulage system go a long way in the economic growth and commercial development of any nation across the globe.
He gave the governor a pat on the back for his performance in all sectors of the state economy particularly the transportation which he said has ease the way of doing business in the state, adding that, apart from job opportunities sanwo-Olu’s efforts along that line is providing for the jobless, it also serve as medical therapy because of the reduction of stress always occasioned by stress caused by several hours of movement from one place to the other in an overcrowded metropolis.
The youth leader said the latest development was an indication that, Sanwo-Olu is committed to walking his talk that, “The 2022 deadline set for the completion of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) projects being undertaken by the Lagos State Government remains sacrosanct.”
