The Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima has thrown his weight behind the aspiration of Senator Ahmad Lawan, who has been adopted by the All Progressives Congress as its candidate for the Senate President of the Ninth National Assembly.
Shettima, who is also a senator-elect, is from the same state with Senator Ali Ndume, who is also contesting the position.
The governor, who addressed journalists in Abuja said the people of his state are behind the aspiration of Lawan.
He said Ndume said his people asked him to contest. But I am the number one citizen of the state. I am not one of the people that asked him to contest. ”
