Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has opened up about one of the most painful experiences of her life, revealing how she lost a nearly four-month pregnancy while working on a movie.
Abraham shared the emotional story at the Bestie Jesu Concert 2026 in Lagos on Saturday, recounting how she struggled to process the loss while still on a film set.
The actress said the miscarriage happened when she was about four months pregnant, leaving her emotionally overwhelmed at a time when she was expected to continue working.
“I was 4 months, but I lost it. But guess what, I was filming, so I was down,” she said.
Still trying to come to terms with what had happened, Abraham said she hesitated to tell her parents, particularly because of her mother’s age.
“I didn’t want to call my parents; you know how it is that you don’t want to… my parents, my mom is old, and I didn’t want to call my mom,” she recalled.
With her husband away from her at the time, Abraham said she eventually reached out to Pastor Bolaji Idowu of Harvesters International Christian Centre.
She said the pastor immediately began praying for her and asked where she was.
“I just told my husband, but that day he was far away, and guess who I called? I just called Pastor Bolaji. He just started praying, and he said, ‘Where are you?’ I said, ‘I’m on my way to the hospital,’” she said.
Abraham explained that doctors had scheduled her for an evacuation procedure following the pregnancy loss. According to her, Pastor Bolaji not only prayed for her but also offered financial assistance towards her medical care.
“He said, ‘What’s going to happen?’ I said, ‘They want to do an evacuation.’ And Pastor Bolaji sent me millions,” she said.
Reflecting on the support she received during the difficult moment, the actress publicly expressed her gratitude to the cleric.
“Thank you so much, Pastor Bolaji. God bless you,” Abraham said.
