In a spectacle that has redefined luxury and cultural celebration on the African continent, billionaire philanthropist Femi Otedola spared no expense as his daughter, Temi Otedola, tied the knot with Afrobeats star Tosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr. Eazi.
The fairytale trilogy of ceremonies—held across Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland—came with a jaw-dropping $15-million price tag, officially marking it as the most expensive wedding in African history.
Love, Legacy, and African Elegance
Far more than a show of wealth, the Otedola–Eazi wedding blended intimacy, heritage, and international flair, setting a new benchmark for how Africa’s wealthiest families celebrate love.
It not only tripled the $5-million wedding of Folorunso Alakija’s son but also outshone Afrobeats megastar Davido’s $3.5-million nuptials earlier this year.
The journey began in Monaco on May 9, 2025, with a private civil ceremony at Monte Carlo’s Marie de Monaco town hall. Honoring what would have been Eazi’s late mother’s 61st birthday, the intimate exchange of vows was witnessed by just four people.
Temi chose understated elegance in a Wiederhoeft suit, while Eazi donned a regal Louis Vuitton ensemble.
Global Icons, Yoruba Traditions
The second leg took place on July 5 in Dubai, where the Otedola family’s villa hosted a Yoruba-style engagement. Intimate yet star-studded, the guest list included Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, and BUA Group chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu.
Guests dazzled in coordinated burgundy aso ebi, while performances from King Sunny Ade and Diplo turned the villa into a cultural-meets-global extravaganza.
A Cinematic Finale in Iceland
The trilogy concluded on Aug. 8 in Reykjavík, Iceland, with a white wedding at the iconic Hallgrímskirkja Cathedral.
Temi walked down the aisle in a custom Fendi gown, later changing into a House of Giles dress for the reception at Kleif Farm.
The grand night featured French pianist Sofiane Pamart and U.S. superstar John Legend, capped by a breathtaking farewell under Iceland’s northern lights.
A New Standard for African Celebrations
The $15-million wedding trilogy was not just about opulence—it was about meaning. From remembrance in Monaco to Yoruba heritage in Dubai and cinematic wonder in Iceland, each chapter told a story of love, culture, and ambition.
For Otedola, it was both paternal pride and an extension of his influence beyond finance into Africa’s cultural narrative.
More than the continent’s costliest wedding, the Temi–Eazi trilogy has set a new gold standard for African high-society celebrations: global in reach, rooted in tradition, and unapologetically grand.
