The Nasrul-Lahi-il Fathi Society of Nigeria, United Kingdom (NASFAT UK), has called on the global Muslim Ummah to shun bullying and harassment of fellow human beings in society.

Addressing the gathering last night at the Night of Majesty (Lailatul Qadr) organized by NASFAT UK and Ireland Zones, held at Oasis Banquet Hall, 6-8 Thames Road, Barking IG11 0HZ, London, United Kingdom, with the theme: The Danger of Misguided Sects and Deviant Beliefs in Islam, the guest speaker, Sheikh AbdulHakeem Omotosho, Chief Imam of Jamatul Islamiyah Mosque, Campbell, London, emphasized the need for unity and compassion among Muslims.

Sheikh Omotosho noted that the way Muslims interact with one another today has deviated from the friendly and loving nature inherited from their ancestors. He stated, “It is important we address this issue in our communities today, as we are all created by Almighty Allah as error-makers.”

He further stressed that in today’s world, “Anywhere you find a group of Muslims advocating for the cause of Islam, another group will condemn and bully them over sins.” He condemned this trend, stating that it is unacceptable in Islam, adding, “Any little sin today, some people are quick to label others as non-believers and bully them. This must stop.”

He urged Muslims to engage in continuous discussions, education, and reorientation to curb this rising issue in society. He reminded the audience that “Almighty Allah created us as sinners, and we must strive to seek His forgiveness and cleanse ourselves. Instead of creating hatred among ourselves, we should continue to love one another. This is the true way to promote Islam, not by condemning or attacking fellow believers in the name of Jihad.”

In his opening address, Dr. Daud Amuzat, Zonal Chairman of NASFAT UK/Ireland Zones, welcomed all Muslim brothers and sisters to the greatest night of blessings and favors from Almighty Allah – The Night of Majesty (Lailatul Qadr).

Dr. Amuzat expressed his joy at being part of the event and voiced concerns over the increasing spread of misguided ideas on social media by self-acclaimed scholars. He stated, “It is a serious concern in society today that strange ideas are being propagated on social media by individuals who mislead people under the guise of religious knowledge.”

He acknowledged that while technology is a vital part of modern life, “it should not be used to attack fellow Muslims. That is not how our noble Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) spread Islam.”

Dr. Amuzat further stressed the importance of using social media positively. He stated, “As Muslims, we are called to encourage people to do the right things as commanded by Almighty Allah. We must desist from all forms of social media bullying and harassment and instead use technology for positive engagement in our communities.”

Alhaji Abdulfatai Omotunde, Coordinator of NASFAT Swansea Group, Wales, United Kingdom, led a delegation of executive members to the event and expressed his joy over the successful turnout. He also celebrated the official proclamation of the NASFAT Swansea Group, Wales at the gathering.

Alhaji Omotunde congratulated NASFAT members across the UK, Ireland, and the world for witnessing the Night of Blessings. He prayed, “May Almighty Allah forgive our sins, and may His blessings follow those who sincerely seek His forgiveness. May He bless individuals, the Deen of Islam, our society, and the world at large.”

The event was attended by members of NASFAT branches and zones across the UK and Ireland.
