FC Barcelona secured an impressive 5-2 win over Red Star Belgrade in their UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday night at the Stadion Rajko Mitić in Belgrade, Serbia.
Polish striker Robert Lewandowski scored twice, with additional goals from Raphinha, Lopez, and Martinez.
Martinez opened the scoring in the 13th minute, meeting Raphinha’s well-placed free kick with a powerful header.
Red Star equalized in the 27th minute when Silas chipped the ball over Peña. Shortly before halftime, Pedri set up Raphinha, whose shot hit the post, allowing Lewandowski to tap in the rebound and make it 2-1.
Lewandowski added his second goal in the 53rd minute as a cross from Kounde deflected off him, bringing the score to 3-1.
Raphinha scored Barcelona’s fourth just two minutes later, connecting with another well-timed pass from Kounde.
Lopez completed the scoring in the 76th minute, firing a cutback from Kounde into the bottom-left corner, giving Kounde his third assist of the match.
Red Star’s second goal came in the 84th minute when Wilson took advantage of a defensive lapse. Seol passed to Wilson, who curled a shot into the bottom-right corner to conclude the game at 5-2.
