Ex-Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has once again failed to appear before the Federal High Court in Abuja for his arraignment over the alleged misappropriation of N80 billion.
The case, brought forward by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), follows Bello’s refusal to honor the agency’s summons regarding the allegations.
Despite previously declaring his willingness to cooperate with the EFCC, Bello was absent from Wednesday’s court session.
The court has now adjourned the case to October 30, 2024, due to the governor’s failure to attend the proceedings.
During the hearing, Bello’s counsel explained that his absence was due to a suit filed at the Supreme Court, seeking to nullify the arrest warrant issued against him by the lower court.
