The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has directed an immediate investigation into bribery allegations made by Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, against some officers of the Commission.
The allegations surfaced in a viral video circulating across the country.
In the video, Bobrisky, an ex-convict, claimed that unnamed EFCC officers demanded and received N15 million from him to drop money laundering charges.
The video, which was shared by Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has drawn widespread attention and raised concerns about potential misconduct within the EFCC.
In response, Mr. Olukoyede swiftly formed a team of investigators to probe the allegations.
The EFCC has invited both Bobrisky and Otse to appear at its Lagos Directorate to assist in the investigation, ensuring transparency in uncovering the truth behind the claims.
The EFCC reassured the public that the matter would be thoroughly examined, and the findings will be made public once the investigation is concluded.
The Commission remains steadfast in upholding its core values of integrity, courage, professionalism, and collaboration.
