The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of legendary Nigerian singer and actress, Onyeka Onwenu, widely known as “The Elegant Stallion.”
The First Lady revealed her grief, particularly noting her recent interaction with the iconic artist during the celebration of Mothers of the Nation on May 25, 2024.
In her statement, Senator Tinubu highlighted Onyeka Onwenu’s extraordinary talent and creativity, praising her contributions to unity and African values through her music.
She specifically mentioned the impact of Onwenu’s timeless song, “One Love Keep Us Together,” which has resonated not only in Nigeria but around the world.
“My thoughts and prayers are with her family, associates, and friends during this period of grief. May the Lord God grant them the strength to bear this painful and irreplaceable loss,” the First Lady said.
