Joshua scored three knockdowns, the first occurring with just 40 seconds remaining in round one after a powerful right punch to Ngannou’s chin.
Although Ngannou managed to rise after each knockdown, the third proved decisive, rendering him unable to continue and requiring medical attention post-fight.
Joshua’s victory was confirmed with the sound of the final bell.
