Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala on Saturday dedicated her brace in Barcelona’s impressive 6-1 win against Granada to the late singer Mohbad.
Mohbad died under controversial circumstances on September 12 at the age of 27. The police are investigating his death.
Oshoala’s team continued their dominant form in Liga F when they hosted Granada at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
In the 80th minute, Oshoala found the back of the net, securing her first goal of the match and Barcelona’s fifth.
Celebrating with deep emotion, she lifted her jersey to reveal a vest bearing the image of Mohbad, paying tribute to the departed artiste.
Two minutes later, she doubled her tally for the evening, calmly tapping the ball into the back of the net from a precise Mariona Caldentey delivery.
Granada managed to score a consolation goal, but the match concluded with Barcelona recording a resounding 6-1 victory.
Oshoala wrote on Instagram, “A double for Imole ⚽⚽🫡… Keep resting young king 🙏🏽❤️ #LightBoy.”
