It was an atmosphere of joy when people around the Lagos metropolis gathered as the Heartmenders Foundation organised another outreach in support of the vulnerables and the poorest among the poor.
About 200 people including widows, youths and nursing mothers benefitted from the social intervention by the Heartmenders Foundation held at Agboyi Community in Ketu area of Lagos.
Aside food items and clothes that was distributed free to the beneficiaries, they also enjoyed free Medical Check ups and Health Talks on how to how to handle their health issues.
Founder of the Heartmenders Foundation, Mary Fidelis Essien expressed delight with the turn out of the beneficiaries despite the heavy rains on the day of the event.
She also applauded different groups that supported the Foundation in different ways towards the success of the event.
Mary Fidelis however stressed the need for more spirited Nigerians and government to always support initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the less privileged in the society at a time the nation is facing harsh economic conditions.
She disclosed that the next outreach will provide supports for a minimum of 1000 vulnerable people in October this year.
Some of the groups that partnered with the Foundation for the success of the project include; Lagos Food Bank Initiative; FoodClique Support Initiative; Folab Dental Care; May & Baker Nigeria Plc; Abimslove4allinitiatives; Power Oil; Marayo Rosewood; and Zainab Asafa Photography.
