Arsenal came back from being down two goals to draw 3-3 with Southampton, who sit at the bottom of the Premier League table.
Despite the impressive comeback, this is the third game in a row that Arsenal has dropped points.
Southampton took an early lead thanks to Carlos Alcaraz, who capitalized on an error by Aaron Ramsdale to score within the first 27 seconds of the game. Theo Walcott added a second goal for Southampton, putting Arsenal at a disadvantage.
Gabriel Martinelli scored a goal for Arsenal before half-time, bringing the score to 2-1.
Duje Caleta-Car added a third goal for Southampton, which seemed to put the game out of Arsenal’s reach. However, Martin Odegaard scored a goal for Arsenal with just two minutes of regular time remaining. This was followed by Bukayo Saka’s goal in the 90th minute, which leveled the score at 3-3.
Arsenal is currently five points ahead of Manchester City, but they have played two more games. The Gunners face a must-win game against title rivals Manchester City on Wednesday.
Arsenal appeared to be out of the game after Caleta-Car’s goal, but they have a history of staging comebacks. This time was no different as they managed to score two goals in the final minutes of the game.
Despite their efforts, they were unable to score the winning goal. The closest they came was when Leandro Trossard’s long-range effort hit the bar.
This result is disappointing for Arsenal, who are currently the Premier League leaders. They have now dropped points in three consecutive games, which will put pressure on them to perform well in their upcoming games.
On the other hand, Southampton will be pleased with their performance, as they managed to secure a point against a top team.
