Renowned activist and leader of a socio-political and pro-democracy group, Razaq Kolade Olokoba (RKO) Political Network Group has thrown his weight behind the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), on his assertion that, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu should continue in office for a second term.

Olokoba, in a chat with newsmen in Lagos Friday was reacting to the statement credited to the Minister in which he was quoted to have said the duty of a governor is beyond a mere camera man’s capability without requisite leadership experience garnered under the tutelage of a master, saying “Fashola’s verdict has been in tandem with our stand all along that has gone beyond what a nonstarter would come to use as trial and error experiment.”

The youthful Chartered Public Administrator (CPA), and member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (MNIM), seized the opportunity of the encounter to re-distribute his earlier statement where he vehemently cautioned other governorship aspirants/candidates in the state to test their luck sometimes in the future and not in the coming March 11, 2023.

The Report goes thus:

“Renowned activist and Convener of the Network, Comrade Razaq Olokoba, in a chat with press men in Lagos Wednesday morning stated that, “the admonition is imperative in view of the superlative performance of the incumbent governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu,” saying, “it is better their focus is shifted to other project than wasting precious time, energy and hard earned resources on a fruitless venture that is dead before arrival.”

“Olokoba, while reasoning that, “no reasonable coach would change a winning team half way into a crucial game,” was of the conviction that, “the good people of Lagos State are still very much in love with Sanwo-Olu’s administration so much that are yearning for more dividends of democracy from him,” wondering how any reasonable person or group of person would toy with the idea of asking them to jettison a certainty for uncertainty!

“Speaking further, the respected political analyst and vocal social commentator disclosed that, “an unprecedented mega rally that will shake the state to its very foundation is on the way to solicit support for Sanwo-Olu and his team of performers,” assuring that, “our support for him is solid while our loyalty to him and his administration is certain.”

“The activist, who is also the National President and Convener of the Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), revealed that, “thorough grassroots mobilization has commenced in all the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDA), with the sole aim of galvanizing support for Governor Sanwo-Olu,” expressing the confidence that, “the massive support that would translate to an overwhelming victory for Sanwo-Olu woul be the first of its kind in the electoral history of Lagos State.”

“He therefore expressed the delights that, “everywhere we touch, the acceptance of Sanwo-Olu’s second term in office has been heart-warming, encouraging and overwhelming,” assuring however that, “even with that, we will not relent on our oars as we intensify the mobilization project tirelessly.”

“Against this backdrop, Olokoba, who also doubles as the Convener of over 70 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), therefore urged every lover of good governance and dividends of democracy to team up with the mobilization train moving around so as be part of the beneficial projects for all and sundry.”
