In what aptly qualifies for a clear cut suicide attempt, men of the Lagos state Rapid Response Squad (RRS), on Friday, redeemed the life of a depressed, middle aged, Dauda Yakubu, who was on the verge of ending his life by plunging into the Atlantic ocean via the 3rd mainland bridge.
But for prowess and timely intervention of the RRS personnel, manning the agency’s beat on the long stretch of the bridge, the rescued victim, who appeared visibly dejected and was wailing agonizingly, would have viciously terminated his life, citing hopelessness as the reason for his fatal decision.
Available checks, show that, the victim is now in safe custody, as he has been handed to the Adeniji Adele divisional headquarters, under which jurisdiction it falls to further action on reunion with his family after the conclusion of police processes
