Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the Forum Chairman, Hon. Aliu Najeemdeen Olohuntoyin, stated that Senator Obanikoro is the only aspirant who has honoured the Councilors by recognizing and calling on their support towards achieving his Senatorial ambition.

Olohuntoyin said further that the Councilors are willing and ready to support Senator Obanikoro’s candidacy adding that he is a politician whose political heights many of them aspire to attain.

In his speech at the well-attended event, Senator Obanikoro described Councilors as the closest political leaders to the people. He stated further that the role of Councilors in nation building should not be underestimated, adding that there should be a clarity of functions among the three tiers of government at all levels.

“I have called you today because I know how important you are to my aspiration. You are the first point of call and contact to our people and you should play important roles in the development of your councils and by extension our dear State,” he concluded.
