A prominent Islamic Singer and immediate past President of the Islamic Musicians Association of Nigeria (ISMAN), El-Hadj Wasiu Kayode As-Sidique has rescheduled his 30 years on stage bash, which was to hold last year, 2020, for the end of March this year, 2021.
In a statement in Lagos Thursday, the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), trained journalist informed that, “the ceremony was shifted from last year to this year because of the lockdown occasioned by the dreaded coronavirus code-named COVID-19 that ravaged the whole world last year.”
The diminutive but agile Music Lord with velvet tone said in the release that, “the shifting was borne out of our patriotic contribution to curb the spread of the killer disease that can be contracted through body contact,” stating that, “with the overwhelming number of our fans, well-wishers and admirers, there was no way we could peg the number for attendance.”
While hoping that the second coming of the monster would soon fizzle out with strict compliance of the public with all the laid down preventive protocols, the March new date would be a reality, assuring however that, “the anniversary would be in conformity with what the authorities endorse for the good and wellbeing of the populace.”
The widely travelled faith based musician urged the people to observe all the preventive measures spelt out by the government in the fight against the pandemic, asserting that, “prevention is better and even cheaper than cure.”
The highly enlightened entertainer is of the belief that, the preventive measures of wearing mask, keeping away from crowded places, observing social-distancing, washing and sanitizing the hands as well as keeping hygienic environment could not be too much a burden to observe for the safety of all the people.
