President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after spending about four weeks in Europe, where he combined his working vacation with official and business engagements.
Tinubu arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, following his departure from Paris, France.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other dignitaries were at the airport to receive the President.
Tinubu had departed Nigeria on August 30 for a three-week working vacation, during which he visited London and Paris and held several official and business engagements.
His return comes ahead of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary on Thursday, October 1, with the President expected to participate in activities marking the occasion.
He is also expected to deliver a nationwide broadcast as part of the anniversary celebrations.
In addition, Tinubu is scheduled to attend the premiere of a film chronicling the life of the late businessman and politician, Moshood Abiola, at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Lagos.
