Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has received a high-powered delegation from the United States Congress in Abuja, marking a continuation of last month’s security discussions held in Washington, D.C.
The delegation—comprised of senior U.S. lawmakers Mario Díaz-Balart, Norma Torres, Scott Franklin, Juan Ciscomani, and Riley Moore—visited Ribadu to advance bilateral cooperation on counter-terrorism and regional stability.
Ribadu said Nigeria remains fully committed to strengthening its strategic security partnership with the United States, adding that both countries share mutual interests in tackling terrorism, instability, and transnational threats.
The U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, was also present at the meeting, underscoring the significance both nations place on the ongoing collaboration.
Ribadu described the engagement as productive, expressing optimism that it will deepen trust, enhance coordination, and reinforce the shared pursuit of peace and security.
