Hon. Seyi Jakande, the Vice Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and the chairmanship flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has highlighted pressing governance issues while laying out his vision for the future in a compelling appearance on the Hi Impact Radio “Morning Impact” Show on Wednesday, 21st of May.
During the chat, Jakande, affectionately known as “JAKO,” underscored the importance of continuity in governance, emphasising his dedication to advancing the initiatives of the incumbent chairman, Hon. Rasaq Ajala. “Continued progress is essential for our community,” he stated. “We need to build on the foundation that has been laid, ensuring that Odiolowo-Ojuwoye thrives in every aspect.”
Focusing on youth involvement in government, Jakande articulated a passionate call for empowering the younger generation. “Youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are crucial to our governance today,” he declared. His commitment to fostering youth engagement reflects a broader vision of inclusivity and responsibility in local governance.
At the heart of Jakande’s campaign is the HEWA AGENDA—an ambitious plan designed to deliver the dividends of democracy to the Odiolowo-Ojuwoye community. Each pillar of the HEWA AGENDA addresses critical needs within our community,” Jakande explained, highlighting initiatives aimed at improving health services, education facilities, social welfare programs, and support for local agriculture.
Environmental sustainability was another key topic addressed by Jakande, who acknowledged the pressing environmental concerns facing Odiolowo-Ojuwoye and by extension Lagos State. “Our environment is our heritage, and we must protect it,” he insisted. To combat waste management issues, he mentioned the Odiolowo Waste and Recycle Agency, a new initiative established by the incumbent Executive Chairman, aimed at ensuring proper waste disposal and promoting recycling within the locality. “This agency will play a pivotal role in restoring environmental stability, fostering cleaner and healthier living conditions for our people.”
With the HEWA AGENDA at the forefront of his campaign, Jakande aims to not only continue the legacy of his predecessor but also to elevate Odiolowo-Ojuwoye to new heights, ensuring that the voices of young people and all residents are heard and addressed.
