The Lagos State Government has announced that preparations have been finalized for a smooth and successful celebration of this year’s Lagos Food Festival.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Bisola Olusanya, made this announcement at a media briefing held at The Good Beach in Victoria Island. She stated that this year’s event will feature a fusion of different flavors.
Olusanya explained that the annual Festival, which originated from the Sea Foods Festival, aims to showcase the state’s immense potential to the rest of the world.
The event is scheduled to take place on December 10 at the Muri Okunola Park in Victoria Island. It will showcase a high level of tourism, entertainment, lifestyle, music, and various types of cuisine to the delight of attendees.
Olusanya further stated that the 2023 Lagos Food Festival will be an inclusive event, highlighting the diversity of the state. It will bring together those in the food and entertainment industry, as well as enthusiasts. She emphasized that the festival provides a legitimate opportunity for people to earn money.
The commissioner revealed that the event has transformed the lives of many individuals, and approximately 1000 jobs will be created as the event is free for all.
Olusanya described the festival as a fantastic platform for the youths in the state, especially as it is organized near the end of the year.
She expressed her satisfaction with the impressive collaboration ahead of this year’s event, despite the economic challenges in the country.
According to Olusanya, visitors to the festival can expect to be thrilled by a lineup of great artists, comedians, and chefs. Additionally, there will be prizes up for grabs in a dancing competition and a family cooking competition.
“The Lagos Food Festival will create a friendly ambiance for attendees, and vendors are expected to sell their products at affordable prices,” she added.
The event is expected to attract at least 10,000 people.
Dr. Oluwarotimi Fashola, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his consistent support to the Ministry. He also commended the Commissioner for always taking the lead in implementing policies and programs of the ministry, as well as the media and partners for ensuring the success of the program.
