Drug abuse is the use of illegal drugs or the overuse of prescription for purpose other than those for which they are meant to be used. Some causes of drug abuse are as follows:
Environmental factors including the family’s belief and attitudes and exposure to a peer group that encourages drug use, seem to play a role in initial drug use.
Peer pressure is a strong factor in starting to use and misuse drugs particularly for young people when expose to it.
Lack of parenting or lack of bond with family, siblings may lead to drug addiction.
Mental health disorder such as depression, attention deficit, post traumatic stress, loneliness and various mental effects.
Family history or reoccurrence is common in some homes which may likely leads to increase in drug abus and risk based on genes.
