Many of us had a resolution plans in 2023 to eat healthy but we have been guilty of eating unhealthy food one way or another. It is sad anytime we decide to stick to our healthy diet we find ourselves backing out on our goals. It is either there is no time, cost, hearing about the lastest food in town (I fall victim of this too) or peer pressure. Eating healthy should not be treated with levity. Eating healthy is crucial just as showing up for your business everyday is crucial for a business owner. Taking your daily prescribed dose of nutrient and vitamins is important for daily energy, fitness, alterness and for the overall well being of the body. If you struggle to adopt a daily healthy eating lifestyle, it can have a negative impact on your health. I have had my fair share of unhealthy living, especially as a student. So, I get how you must be feeling. I have some solutions to eating healthy and helping you smash your health goals this year.

1. Never Enough Time to Eat Healthy; We all have 24hours in a day to carry out our busy activities even the world richest man too. But sometimes it looks as if 24hours is never enough. We seem busy with work, studies, families, social gatherings. And sometimes we feel we have to prepare a healthy snack for a whole day. But the fun fact is that you don’t need a whole lot of time to make a healthy snack. There are plenty of easy way to eat snack healthy. Here are some tips that will help you manage your time out of your busy schedule.

i. Choose snacks that do not require a lot of cutting to prepare. You can easily pack your snacks. I recommend granola.

ii. Eating healthy snacks that needs little or no repackaging. For example, apples, bananas.

iii. Incorporate healthy ingredient into your snack and meals. For example banana bread.

2. Eating Healthy is Pricey; We believe we have to break the bank in other to eat healthy. Some also believe that eating healthy is meant for the rich and it sad that unhealthy snacks are cheap which cause negative impact to our health. Well, I have good news for you! You do not have to break the bank to eat healthy. There are ways you can eat healthy without exceeding your budget:

I. Get your own food at the market. This helps you prepared delicious and healthy meals.

ii. Be creative with your leftovers. For example, do not throw away your overripe banana. You can make a loaf of banana bread for breakfast.

3. Craving for Sweet Snacks; Sometimes it is impossible not to crave for sweet snacks. And then we just want to reach for the bar of chocolate sitting comfortable in our fridge. It is easy to get addicted to sweet snacks.

Here are some tips to help put your sweet cravings in order.

i. Do away with every unhealthy snacks in your home. Addictions are to be eliminated, not managed. You want to stop something? stop it completely.

ii. Keep yourself distracted when the cravings to ear sweet snacks pop up.

iii. Sometimes we crave for sweet snacks when we are stress. When stressed, practice deep breathing, meditation, talk to your support or accountability partner. This will help you destress yourself.

4. Peer pressure; You wondering how peer pressure is one of the problem of eating unhealthy right?. We sometimes struggle to resist when our friends, or co-worker offer us a taste of good looking junk food they are munching on. It looks impossible to resist, but you can avoid yielding to the pressure of eating unhealthy snacks when offered one.

Below are some tips;

โ€ข i. Don’t get over hungry; Anytime this happens, we are prone to say yes when offered and delicious looking yet unhealthy snacks to eat. Always make your your pack on-the-go healthy snacks is with you the whole day.

ii. Remind yourself that eating unhealthy is not good and it makes your body react to it negatively.
