It is no news that the world we live now is deeply engrossed into single-parent/ parenting. Though it seems as the new order of day,we can’t over-emphasizes the damage it has done to the society and nation as a whole. I can go on and explainwhat single-parent/parenting is all about ,but it will be hypocritical of me to to assume there is anyone who doesn’tknow or has an insight to what it means. The alarming rise in the numbers of single-parent/parenting will be bringing us to give insight into the causes and possible remedies of single-parent / parenting.
Death / Mortality rateย is a natural cause of single-parent/ parenting. It isย rather unfortunate when one’s partner is taken away by the icy hands of death. It is more saddening when this happen to young couple with the responsibilities of kid(s). The rate of which natural disaster ,diseases, and accidents couple with criminal activities ,all over the world cause people to be spouse-less and child(ren) to be parent-less is dishearting it is also one of ,if not the major cause of single-parent/ parenting.
Unintended/ Teenagers pregnancy is one issue that is becoming so rampant all over the world. You see teenagers thatย should still be under the care of their parent having their own child(ren).Kids with no sense of responsibility whatsoever, but an uncontrollable desire for lust are found in hospital attending antenatal meetings. Having children by such unchecked manner is sure cause of single-parent/ parenting. In the same vein ,adults co-habitating together with no plan of settling down in the nearest future are one of the causes that increased the numbers of single-parent/ parenting.ย Many youths /young adults are in the habit of having unprotected sexual intercourse with no desire of becoming parents . When faced with the responsibilities of being a parent , most time ,the unprepared “father” tends to run and leave the lady involved to bearย the burden of parenting all alone .
Divorce is the most common reasons of single-parent/ parenting families. In 1970s and 1980s it become much more common and the number of family headedby one-parent increased rapidly.
For the purpose of this ratio to be reduced , clinical psychologist should be applied to the the ratio of diseases that may cause untimely death.Also, taking proper care of our health and environment. Avoiding of accidents which can be avoided is also one of the priorityย remedy of single-parent/ parenting.
For adolescents who are sexually active, using effective contraceptives (such as condoms, birth control pills, the patch, the vaginal ring, the intrauterine device or IUD, and/or injectable birth control methods) every time they have sexual intercourse will reduce chances of unwanted pregnancy for the case of single-parent/ parenting.Alsoย In order to prevent teenage pregnancy, teenagers need to have a comprehensive understanding of abstinence, contraceptive techniques, and consequences..for them not to bearย the burden of single-parent.
Going for marriage counseling,ย understanding each other ,trust,ย Understand what are the biggest issues in your marriage, Accept that your spouse is humanโjust like you, getting some accountabily and visiting a therapist to save marriage in divorce. These are remedies to avoid single-parent household or single-parent families.
With all this alight causes can be resolve ,but that of Natural hazard does not ,it can only be solve in the hands of God.
