A group of campaign volunteers, christened, National Independent Campaign Organization for Tinubu (NICOT), has expressed excitement and utmost joy to hear that former Lagos State Governor and current Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), will campaign for his boss and the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
The NICOT Chief Campaigner, Comrade Razaq Olokoba, in a chat with correspondents in Lagos Sunday said, “with Fashola going round to campaign for Tinubu, the February 25, 2023 presidential election is as good as won by the APC candidate,” reminding that, “Fashola, a grand performer and workaholic achiever is a man with the Midas touch whose lexicon does not harbour anything that has to do with failure.”
According to him, NICOT was formed with a view to complimenting the campaign structure already put on ground by the APC with our existing structure across the Country to boost the chance of Asiwaju to become the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from May 29, 2023, enthusing that, “now with Fashola’s full participation, the task of putting Tinubu into the Aso Villa has become easier than expected.”
Olokoba, a renowned activist, chartered public administrator, management and security consultant said, “though, we have never doubted Fashola’s loyalty to his boss and his party, his direct campaign declaration for his boss is an added assurance that he has not derailed from the path of honour we have known him for over the years,” pointing out that, “the gangling Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) has a lot of things going for him in this process of assisting his onetime predecessor in office.”
Elucidating on this, Olokoba, who doubles as the Convener and National President of the Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), said, “Babatunde Raji Fashola (BRF), is vocal lawyer blessed with oratory prowess, an administrator with unique administrative acumen, trustworthy and perfect achiever,” stressing that, “with all his traits as a performer, achiever and true manager of human, material and natural resources, he has seen all and whatever he says, nobody would doubt him.”
Speaking further, the Ilorin, Kwara State born pro-democracy advocate reminded that, Fashola was at a time the Chief of Staff to Asiwaju Tinubu as governor before succeeding his boss as governor for two terms of four years apiece, asking rhetorically, “with this feat, who else could know Tinubu more than Fashola, who has served him as the Chief of Staff?”
In addition to that, Olokoba continued, Fashola has also been in the presidency where he has acquired the intricacies of the executive experience that he could guide Tinubu with when the latter assume office as Mr. President on May 29, this year, asserting again that, “Fashola campaigning for Tinubu is. To say the least, a divine favour from the almighty God.”
But when reminded that Fashola was quoted in an interview that he would need a rest after about several years in the public service, Olokoba responded that, “that remains a bridge to be crossed when we get to it,” volunteering however that, “Fashola that we know can never say no to the service of his country and humanity.”
Olokoba was reacting to an interview Fashola granted ThisDay Live where he assured that he would campaign for Tinubu and the sitting governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office.
Concluding, the youthful Chartered Administrator said, “what we have said about Fashola’s stand on Fashola stand for Sanwo-Olu because the campaign for both of the would rub off on other APC candidates across board, reminding that, “members of NICOT are same members of the Sanwo-Olu for Governor Again (SAFOGA)”
