As the world marks the World Sight Day (WSD), the International Day of Awareness on eye health, a visually impaired writer and teacher, Samuel Obong, author of a book on education and parenting will be celebrated on Sunday October 16, 2022 by the Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies, (CIAPS), in Ikeja, Lagos.
A statement published on CIAPS website and confirmed the Centre Director, Prof. Anthony Kila said that the October CIAPS Brunch themed “Getting the Best out of your Schools”, a Sunday afternoon Buffet filled with music, food and drinks aimed at parents and teachers will also promote the doggedness of the 42-year old Psychology graduate who is also a CIAPS Post graduate of educational studies will showcase his book titled “Why the Child will Fail.”
Kila said the book focuses on the challenges parents and teachers face in training the child. “It focuses on both parenting and education, since every child has a core reserve of talent, parents and teachers can help the child to discover that core, and nurture the child in it to ensure they are not conflicted.
“That is why you have a lot of adults today who failed to discover their path, because what they were nurtured into is not at the centre of what they are supposed to do. When a child follows his or her core, they will become excellent naturalists and can expand natural intelligence.”
The event will start at 12noon and it will an afternoon of food, drinks and exchange of ideas between parents and teachers.
The celebrated author, Samuel Obong, who did his postgraduate degree at CIAPS, has about 15 years teaching experience where he assists children in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as opposed to merely memorizing to pass examinations.
Kila also used his message to appeal to well-meaning Nigerians to come out and support such a talent in any way they can.
The event is open to all and more information for participation can be found at
