As a climax to the year 2022, Eid El Kabir feats and celebration, Arewa community across the Alimosho federal constituency, Lagos state, on Saturday, July 16, 2022, organized and treated its membership to a mixture of events including eating and drinking, to wind up the Sallah moments for the year.
It will be recalled that, the Lagos state government had in usual fashion, provided the community, across the state, with Sallah goodies, including rams, bagged rice, condiments and financial support, days before the festival, to cushion and ease the demands of the season.
The event, which held within the premises of the Hajj Camp, in Egbeda Akowonjo area, saw an assemblage of Arewa community stakeholders across the federal constituency, including politicians, assembly of serikis led by their chairman and Sarki overall of Alimosho, Alhaji Ahmed Haruna kuraja, traders, artisans and women amongst others, in attendance.
The executive chairman of Alimosho local government, honorable Jelil Sulaiman, who was the guest of honour, was in attendance, with his entourage including the SLG honorable Dare Ogunkoya, the supervisor for environment honorable Debo Shanu and the deputy chief of staff to the executive chairman, honorable Deji.
Commenting, the local government Boss, commended and appreciated the Arewa community alimosho’s steadfast support to the All Progressives Congress (APC); he added that, the community’s unflinching support to the party, was the reason, an SSA on information, to the executive chairman was appointed from amongst them, for the first time in the history of Alimosho local government, in person of Ibrahim A. Jagaba.
The LG Boss went further, to appreciate the contributions of the Arewa community to the IGR of the local government council, which he affirmed, continue to fast track infrastructure regeneration in the LGA.
The chairman ended his comments, with the emphatic call on non PVC owners amongst the Arewa community to seize the opportunity of the remaining days to the end of the registration, which is July 31st, 2022, to register and get their PVCs preparatory to exercising their franchise for the APC in the 2023 general election as they have always demonstrated.
A number of opinion moulders in attendance including, the national secretary general of the Arewa youth consultative forum, (AYCF), Ahmed Tijjani Sulaiman, the Sarki overall of Alimosho, Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, and Alhaji Sani Wambai, a statesman and traditional chief across seventeen southern states of Nigeria, amongst others, appreciated, commended and prayed for the LG Boss and the country at large.
Making his remark, the chairman of the Arewa community in the local government and federal constituency, Ibrahim A. Jagaba, thanked the chairman and his team for honoring the Arewa community with their presence and assured the guests of unchanging and increasing support to the APC.
He went further to commend and appreciate the Lagos state governor, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu for the Sallah bounties; assuring that the leadership and membership of the community will not rest on it oars in the promotion of peace and harmony across the LGA and the state by extension as always emphasized by the state chairman of the Arewa community and honorable commissioner, waterfront infrastructure development, ministry, Lagos state, Arc. Ahmed Kabiru Abdullahi.
