The aspiration of Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro to win the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and subsequently go on to win the election proper to represent the Lagos West Senatorial District in the Red Chamber recieved a major boost on Sunday, 22 May, 2022 with his endorsement by traditional rulers of Awori origin.
At a meeting which took place at the Secretariat of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, the 33 Awori Obas in attendance unanimously endorsed the senatorial aspiration of Senator Obanikoro.
They also assured him of their support and mobilisation of voters for him.
The Obas were led to the meeting by the duo of Onigando of Igando, His Royal Majesty Lasisi Gbadamosi; and the Onijanikin of Ijanikin, Oba Momodu Asafa.
Some of the monarchs present at the meeting were: Oba Isiaka Balogun of Ketu, Oba Akeem Agbaosi of Aguda Ogba, Oba Oluwasegun Adeyemi Ajasa of Onigbongbo, Oba Oluwalambe of Ojokoro, Oba Moroof Ojoola of Ejigbo, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka of Isolo, Elegbeda of Egbeda, Osolu of Irewe, Olu of Agege and Alagodo of Agodo-Egbe
