A socio-political organization, the Royal Peoples Platform (RPP), has greeted Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State over the latest honour accorded him by the management of the Leadership Newspaper as the publishing outfit gave him the Leadership Governor of the Year Award.
Convener of the Platform, Prince Dare Aladekoba, told our correspondent in Lagos Tuesday that, highly deserved Award came after series of such Awards in the recent past, expressing conviction that, the latest Award has confirmed further, that the ones earlier given to the governor were not a fluke after all.
Aladekoba, who reasoned that the Award, like others earlier, was a clear testimony that, the good work of Sanwo-Olu is being monitored from different quarters and thus the appreciations through Awards, praising the people of Lagos State for their resilience and urging them to keep up the spirit.
While commending the governor for dedicating the award to Lagos residents, the youthful RPP Convener was of the belief that, that simple action of the governor would go a long way inspiring them to double their support for him, giving kudos to for appreciating the value of their suppot for him all this while.
The platform Leader insisted that, Sanwo-Olu is reaping the fruit of leading by example and from the front in a state populated by highly enlightened people from all walks of life, reminding him, that the Award as well as the support of the people are clarion call for more hard work and commitment to the good work he has been doing for the people’s living standard.
“It was never a surprise that the Leadership’s prize for him was for successfully managing and turning around what could have been a tragic episode for the nation, following the outbreak of Coronavirus. It is on record that two international organizations-World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nation (UN) had earlier done same at the thick of the dreaded monster called COVID-19,” Aladekoba reminded.
The Platform Leader said it is gratifying to note that, despite the spread of the virus, the situation has little impact on the State’s economy as a result of preventive and recovery measures put in place by the Governor, reminding that, Lagos has remained the epicentre of the pandemic, which is currently in its third wave.
“We members of the RPP could not agree less with Governor Sanwo-Olu that the honour reflected his personal philosophy about public service and that the prize indicated that his administration’s efforts to improve governance were yielding positive results,” Aladekoba concluded.
