A non-govermental organisation, Eternal Care Foundation has decided to support the effort of the government with the sinking of boreholes, monthly food interventions, end of the year party/gifts to the orphanage homes and widows, cash empowerment programmes for indigents, emergency response among others to the people of Lagos State.
The Director General of the foundation, Duke Olabode Garbadeen, said the 14-month agenda set at the first anniversary of the Foundation last year was aimed at ensuring people have access to hygienic portable water and also to uplift their standard of living.
Speaking to journalists during the commissioning of a water project at the Ogba area of Lagos, he said “we are poised to do our best for public benefit and to provide assistance to people at the time of their need in any part within our reach”.
He stated further that the motive of the Foundation is to engage in charity as it makes him feel good and that personal satisfaction and gratification is always achieved when it is done.
The foundation has before now erected complete water projects at Epe, Orile Iganmu, Otto Awori and another water project is on-going at Ibeshe, Ikorodu.
The Foundation has also engaged in several activities in the past two years among which are donation of grains, foodstuffs and other items to Lagos state rehabilitation and vocational training center in isheri, donation of food stuffs to destitute home at Ebute Meta, Lagos, Atunda Olu School for Challenged Students among several others.
Also, a light empowerment programme was held last year at our anniversary in ikeja, where modest cash empowerments were given to widows and other less privileged ones.
It is also noteworthy that the Foundation distributed Covid-19 safety materials to people at Epe and Ikeja specifically during last year lockdown.
The Director General concluded that, “we won’t relent in our efforts as a Foundation to ensure we put smiles on people’s faces by providing for the less privileged any little thing that can uplift their living standard”.
