The Presidency has dismissed as false a viral report claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced the Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, with the Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Presidency described the report circulating on social media as a fabrication with no basis in fact.

Onanuga clarified that Femi Gbajabiamila remains the Chief of Staff to the President, while Hakeem Muri-Okunola continues to serve as the Principal Private Secretary.

“There is absolutely no truth to this story,” the statement said, urging Nigerians to disregard the claim in its entirety.

The Presidency further noted that the false report was the handiwork of mischievous purveyors of fake news whose intention is to create unnecessary tension and disharmony within the government.

The statement also cautioned media organisations and social media users to always verify information from credible sources before publishing or sharing, stressing the importance of responsible reporting in the interest of national stability.
