…Ejigbadero pledges full support as Majority Leader unveils exciting lineup of events
Excitement is building across Agbado Oke-Odo as preparations reach top gear for the 14th edition of the Agbado Oke-Odo Festival, an annual celebration that promotes good character, showcases local talents, and strengthens community spirit within the Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
At a press conference to announce the 2025 edition, the Executive Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. Abiodun Jimoh Isola, who was represented by his vice, Hon. Kehinde Sobayo commended the convener of the festival and Majority Leader of the Council, Hon. Olabisi Oyebola, for his consistency, creativity, and determination in sustaining the event for over a decade.
He praised the festival’s role in uniting residents and fostering socio-economic growth through cultural celebration and youth engagement.
“Fourteen years of consistency is no small feat. This festival has become a rallying point for our people and a platform for discovering hidden talents. As a responsive government, we are proud to support every initiative that adds value to the lives of our residents,” Hon. Isola stated.
Hon. Oyebola, who first introduced the festival in 2012 during the tenure of the late Comrade Augustine Arogundade, said the event has grown into one of the most anticipated grassroots celebrations in Lagos State.
He described the festival as “a symbol of unity, creativity, and social development,” noting that it continues to impact lives and promote positive values among youths and adults alike.
This year’s edition, themed Promoting Good Character and Revealing Hidden Talents, will feature a diverse lineup of activities including a beauty pageant, mathematics and essay competitions, art exhibitions, talent hunts, sporting events, skill acquisition programmes, and a free medical outreach aimed at improving community health.
A highlight of the celebration will be the Agbado Oke-Odo Mega Achievers Awards, which will honour individuals, corporate organizations, and community groups who have made outstanding contributions to local development in categories such as Man of the Year, Community Man of the Year, CDA of the Year, and Company of the Year.
Hon. Oyebola expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abiodun Jimoh Isola, for his unwavering support and commitment to ensuring the continued success of the festival.
He also acknowledged the contributions of sponsors, community associations, and corporate partners who have kept the initiative alive.
The first phase of the 2025 festival will hold from November 17 to 28, while the grand finale is scheduled for December 8 to 14. All events are free and open to the public.
Residents are also encouraged to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as a sign of civic responsibility and active citizenship.
Hon. Oyebola further appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership, which he said continues to inspire grassroots development and youth empowerment across the country.
