The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has officially transitioned to new leadership as Bayo Ojulari assumed office as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), succeeding Mele Kyari.
The handover ceremony, held on Friday at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, marked a pivotal shift for the national oil company. In his inaugural address, Ojulari acknowledged Kyari’s dedication and the progress made under his tenure, emphasizing his commitment to consolidating those achievements while steering NNPC toward greater operational efficiency and profitability.
“I will be counting on your support. I will need it. I will be coming around to seek your counsel,” Ojulari said, addressing Kyari during the ceremony.
He further noted that while the targets ahead are enormous, he remains confident that with the cooperation of the management and staff—as well as guidance from his predecessor—NNPC will achieve greater milestones.
In his farewell remarks, Mele Kyari congratulated Ojulari on his appointment and expressed gratitude to the NNPC workforce for their unwavering support throughout his leadership.
“I will continue to support the new Management in every way I can. I’m only a call away,” Kyari assured.
This leadership transition comes at a crucial time as NNPC Ltd continues its transformation into a commercially driven enterprise, navigating global energy challenges and positioning itself for sustainable growth.
