The incident, caused by a gas tanker that burst into flames, engulfed several vehicles and cut off the busy roadway in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The explosion occurred during rush hour as commuters were returning home, triggering multiple secondary blasts and widespread panic.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene to provide rescue services, with personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other security agencies working to contain the situation.
Eyewitnesses reported that the explosion caused severe gridlock, forcing many motorists to abandon their vehicles.
